St Mary’s scoop second in North East Essex Swimming Association Gala

Excellent individual pupil and team performances by our Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 swimmers at the North East Essex Swimming Association Gala meant St Mary’s took second place overall in the girls’ classes, hot on the fins of Philip Morant School.

Seven local schools took part in the Gala, which was held at Leisure World on 8 March.

“Yet again, our pupils were a credit to the school and to each other,” said PE teacher Mrs Johnson. “They supported each other and swam for the good of the whole team as much as for the personal achievement and glory. They all performed extremely well, but I would particularly like to mention Molly (Year 7) for her success in Butterfly, Rosie (Year 9) for Breaststroke, and the Year 8, 10 and 11 Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay teams.”
