Sunday 20 November – East Essex Netball Tournament

On Sunday 20 November St Mary’s Under 14 Netball Team took part in the East Essex Netball Tournament at the Gilberd School.

This was always going to be a tough tournament as it’s all the top sporting schools in Essex, but we were competitive and our confidence in our play developed throughout the day and our progression really showed. A tough first match against New Hall saw us losing 9-6 but was a very close game.

Throughout the day the team gelled, and we learnt some valuable lessons in terms of marking and moving around the court. We didn’t let our spirits drop and which resulted in a well-deserved win over Westcliff : 10-6. Having played seven matches over the course of the day, at the end everyone was exhausted from charging round the courts in difficult slippery conditions.

Overall, a great experience for all of us and we played a lot of netball, gaining confidence and experience. Looking forward to the next tournament, well played everyone!
