Singers at St Mary’s achieve over 50K Instagram video views!

A short clip of Year 3 and Year 4 singers at St Mary’s Colchester rehearsing for an upcoming music concert has already gained over 50k views since it was posted, and the number is still climbing!

Girls as young as seven are encouraged to take part in a variety of music concerts at St Mary’s, to showcase their talents and develop their confidence. From being a member of the school Choir or Orchestra through to tackling solo instrumental or singing pieces, the girls fully embrace the opportunity to perform in front of an audience of proud family members.

Head of Lower School, Mrs Emma Stanhope, said “The girls at St Mary’s have a huge amount of talent, from the arts to sport as well as academically. We’re delighted so many people have enjoyed watching the girls rehearse for one of our music concerts, where the girls have the opportunity to develop their performance skills.”

St Mary’s has recently announced plans to grow capacity due to increasing demand for places. Principal, Mrs Nicola Griffiths, explained “We believe girls are remarkable and our aim is to empower girls to thrive at St Mary’s and beyond. We’re delighted to be able to offer more girls the opportunity to access an education that’s designed specifically for girls.”

For anyone wishing to find out more about the complete education, recently given the top rating of excellent by the Independent School Inspectorate (ISI), St Mary’s offers individual tours of the Lower School and Senior School. There is also a Kindergarten and Lower School Open Day on Friday 14 June, 9.30-11.30am.
