The Scholarships programme on offer at St Mary’s Senior School is for pupils joining Year 7 in September 2025 and beyond, details of which will be shared at a Scholarships Information Event for parents and their daughters on Thursday 16 May.
Through St Mary’s Scholarships programme, the Senior School for girls age 11-16 recognises academic achievement following exceptional performance in Year 7 assessment and talents in Art, Drama, Music, Sport and STEM.
There is no financial assessment for St Mary’s Scholarship applicants, all Scholarships are awarded solely on merit and in open competition, and there is no set limit to the number of Scholarships that may be offered in one year of entry. Scholarships can attract a partial fee remission, at the discretion of the Principal.
Mrs Nicola Griffiths, St Mary’s Principal said “We are excited to share details of our enhanced Scholarship programme at our Year 7 Scholarships Information Event. Our Scholarships are designed to accelerate the development of students that are able in a variety of disciplines. Scholars act as role models and leaders to other students and as ambassadors for St Mary’s. The girls are encouraged, and expected, to make the most of the wealth of educational opportunities available to them to extend, broaden and strengthen their aptitudes and talents, and to gain valuable experience that will stand them in good stead for the future.”
Scholarships are available to girls wishing to join St Mary’s Senior School in Year 7 who show a strong aptitude for the Arts (Art, Drama and Music) and Sports. In addition to those awarded Academic Scholarships as a result of exceptional performance in the Year 7 entrance assessment, STEM Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of applications and interviews, to those who show a passion for and talent in this area.
