Kindergarten Admissions

Girls and boys may join St Mary’s Kindergarten at the start of the term in which their third birthdays fall.

Tours and Open Days

Our Registrar will be happy to give you a tour of the Kindergarten and answer your questions prior to your child joining us.

Coming along to our Open Days is a good way to get to know St Mary’s Kindergarten. Open Days take place in the Spring and Autumn and are a great way to see the brilliantly balanced pre-school education on offer.

Open Days & Visits

The next step is to reserve a place for your chosen days (please check availability in advance with the Registrar) by completing the Registration Form.

How to Pay the Entry Deposit

Familiarisation session

Close to the time of joining, your son or daughter will be invited to take part in a Familiarisation Session, to help your child to feel settled in the Kindergarten and make for a smoother transition from home or nursery to Kindergarten. Parents are also welcome to discuss their child’s learning experiences with the Kindergarten team to make sure that, together, we are giving your child the best possible start in education.

Joining

Pupils at St Mary’s Kindergarten wear a practical uniform which is available to order online by visiting the School Colours website. Here you can create an account (through LOG IN button) so you can access the products in the School Colours school shop, which can be accessed through the School Finder button.

For any enquiries about your uniform order, please go to ‘Contact Us’ on the School Colours web shop or email enquiries@schoolcoloursdirect.co.uk You will need to quote St Mary’s Colchester, the name on the order and the order number.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any assistance with getting a uniform for your child.

Once your child has joined the Kindergarten, he or she will have a nominated ‘key person’ – a member of staff assigned to your child who will monitor his or her progress and well-being as soon as he or she starts and throughout his or her time in the Kindergarten, who is the first point of contact if you have any questions or concerns.
