Our academic curriculum is at the centre of the St Mary’s education and is designed to encourage girls to engage with their lessons and maximise their learning.
Most subjects are taught in tutor or house groups in Years 7 and 8, although Maths is set early in Year 7 so that girls can work at the pace that best suits them.
In Year 7, students have the access to a broad curriculum offering. English, Science and Maths are core subjects, but students learn French, German and Spanish before selecting one language to study. They will also study History, Geography, ICT, Arts, Music, Latin, Classical Civilisation, Religious Studies, PE, Textiles and Food and Nutrition. All of these subjects have the option for further study at GCSE level.
