Aspiring Authors

Join us at this FREE event for parents and daughters to help inspire the next generation of authors.

Saturday 5 October, 10.30am-12pm at St Mary’s Lower School, 247 London Road, Colchester, Essex, CO3 8LT.

Central characters of stories can be a great source of inspiration to children, yet studies show that children’s books are dominated by male central characters.

We are delighted to be joined by Annelise Gray, author of the Circus Maximus series of children’s books who will talk about the daring exploits of the main character of her books, 12 year old Dido, who dreams of becoming the first female charioteer! Girls will also attend creative writing workshops on the theme of creating inspiring female characters run by St Mary’s experienced teachers on the theme of creating inspiring female characters.
