FAQs about Future Females Careers Fair
Location
- St Mary’s Senior School, Lexden Road, CO3 3RB
- Parking available on site for exhibitors
FORMAT FOR the day
- Event advertised 9.30-11.30am
- Event aimed at girls in Year 4 – Year 11 (age 8-16) and their families
- Site is open from 8am for stands to begin setting up – please be ready for 9am as visitors will start arriving around this time
- On arrival, please report to Main Hall to sign in
- Visiting Open Day/Careers Fair families requested to register arrival from 9.15am
- Visitors to look around stands and speak to representatives
- Refreshments served for exhibitors from 11.30am in Dining Hall
- Senior School Open Day with self-guided tours is also taking place alongside the careers fair, 9.30-11.30am so the whole school is open for visitors to view
- Activities will also be taking place in some classrooms, led by St Mary’s staff e.g. forensics, to give girls an insight into particular jobs
- Open Day visitors are also invited to enjoy refreshments in the Dining Hall
- Closing talk from Danielle Sheridan, Defence Editor at The Telegraph, 11.15am in Main Hall for visitors who wish to attend.
Stands
- Stands will be allocated in advance and details shared during the week leading up to the event
- Stands located in Main Hall and other open areas of the school
- Classroom size tables will be provided – please let us know if any additional space is required
- Limited electrical points are available – please let us know if required
- Please let us know if WiFi is required
- Please bring any pop-up banner stands, resources, tablecloths, examples of work and equipment you would like to display and share with visitors
- Table signs can be provided for anyone without branded signage – please let us know if required
Giveaway bags
- Bags will be given out to visitors on arrival with some promotional items
- We are anticipating around 100-120 visitors to the event
- Giveaway bags are slightly bigger than A5 in size when considering what promotional items could be included
- Copy of programme included (this will also be shared in advance)
- Will contain certain prompts for pupils to consider asking, which we will also share with you in advance
- Promotional items from organisations attending included – please indicate on the requirements form if you would be interested in contributing
- If contributing promotional items, we would ideally like these ahead of the event, by the end of Monday 3 March
