Pupils at St Mary’s are celebrating exceptional success in their London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations, with 98% of candidates achieving Distinction grades during the last academic year.
A total of 111 pupils from across the school took LAMDA examinations, demonstrating outstanding commitment, confidence and performance skills across a range of disciplines.
LAMDA, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, offers internationally recognised, Ofqual-regulated qualifications that develop communication, creativity and self-confidence. At the higher levels, LAMDA qualifications can also contribute UCAS points for university applications.
St Mary’s pupils were examined across a variety of subjects, including Acting, Speaking Verse and Prose, Public Speaking and Musical Theatre. The school also offers the specialist Performing Shakespeare and Devising Drama syllabuses, enabling pupils to further develop their performance and presentation skills.
The remarkable results reflect the enthusiasm and dedication of the pupils, as well as the high-quality drama and communication opportunities available throughout the school.
LAMDA examinations are designed to nurture performance and public speaking skills while encouraging pupils to express themselves with confidence. The qualifications are recognised internationally and support the development of skills that are valuable throughout education and beyond.
