St Mary’s School will hold a Future Females Careers Fair on Saturday 7 March, aimed at empowering girls from the local community to explore their future career possibilities
In celebration of International Women’s Day, St Mary’s Colchester’s Future Females Careers Fair returns after the success of its inaugural event last year.
This event is aimed at girls in Year 4 (age 8) and above along with their parents. The aim is to help girls think about their future aspirations and to inspire them by opening their eyes to all the future opportunities available. St Mary’s will be showcasing a variety of careers including areas or levels where women are underrepresented.
The event will run from 11.30am-1pm at St Mary’s Senior School. Girls will have the opportunity to talk to people representing a wide range of careers professionals from fields including policing, tech, finance, the armed forces, animal conservation, hospitality, photography and more.
Mrs Griffiths, Principal said: “Following the success of our first Future Females Careers Fair last year, we are delighted to be welcoming the event back. This year’s fair will feature some of the career pathways that proved particularly popular with pupils last year, alongside different career routes for girls to explore. By hearing first-hand from professionals about their individual journeys, our pupils are encouraged to think boldly about their futures. At St Mary’s, we strive to create an environment where girls feel empowered to take risks, follow their passions and see the world as full of opportunity, free from judgement and stereotypes. I am confident that everyone who attends will leave feeling inspired and excited about the many pathways open to them.”
